*Word Verification*

I know some people are having problems with blogs that have the word verification turned on.
I turned it off last week but when it is off I seem to get so much more spam comments being left ~ people advertising their own businesses & rubbish so I'm afraid I have turned it back on again.

I know blogger is good at catching them but some do slip through I've noticed, the ones where they link their 'name' to a website & just leave a random comment generally not associated to the blog post!!!!!

I've tried this before & when it's turned off the spam comments arrive (!!!) so I'm sorry if it is annoying to anyone but I am turning it back on again.

  1. Hello Alison, I often visit your blog but never commented, sorry. Do not worry about the word verification, but if you get a lot of unnecessary comments then you are right to put them back. :)

    Don't worry I certainly don't expect people to comment all the time, as I know a lot of people just love to read but I'm so glad you did.

  3. People are naughty leaving "general" comments then advertising their business.
    Word verification is a pain but if it stops the annoying comments then its worth it!

    I know I don't personally mind if I visit a blog & the verification is switched on as I'm so used to it now as you have to do it for most things now don't you.

  8. Since turning mine off I haven't been spammed though I guess it's only a matter of time. I'm okay with doing the verification on other people's blogs but what annoys me is the "please prove you're not a robot" comment, which just seems silly! Actually I quite like some of the funny words on the verification! xx
