*Vintage Amethyst In Country Homes & Interiors*

Last month Vintage Amethyst appeared in the lovely home magazine that is
Country Homes & Interiors.
You may remember me blogging about being asked to feature in this post *here*
Well Vintage Amethyst's Vintage Style Birdcage appeared in their 'Looks we Love Birds of Paradise' feature. You can see the birdcage in the feature above.
I must say though that the photo was a really odd colouring & the birdcage didn't look white at all, which it most certainly is!!! They even got the colour wrong in the write up & called it silver!!!!
It isn't silver it is definitely white as I'm sure you can see from my photos!
Anyhoo it was fab to be featured in the Country Homes & Interiors Birds of Paradise photoshoot.
These really pretty Vintage Style Birdcages are so so popular & much loved by brides for their wedding day decor too, they are only £24 each & can be found *here*
They look really adorable with one of the pretty rose garlands that I sell too as the first photo shows, & this would be really pretty for wedding tables.
The garlands are only £10 each & the pretty pink ones can be found *here* & the ivory rose garlands can be found *here*
They of course look super adorable simply by themselves ...

*The Smell of Summer*

A pretty bunch of wild flowers & weeds (!) that I picked & popped into a simple small jar.
I'm always keeping small jars, you know the ones that contain pesto or olives?
I just can't bare to part with them for some reason!
I think the idea of popping a little bunch of flowers in them is perfect & they look so sweet.
My Dad, my sister & I had a conversation about weeds & flowers the other week when we were planting in Dad's garden. He wanted it full of flowers again as my Mum always kept it full & pretty with all different colours of flowers & plants, so we did a spot of gardening together. Let it be said we are really not gardeners & although we do keep flowers & plants, we don't know plants & gardens like the 'green fingered' folk, one of which my Mum certainly was! We came to the conclusion that if the flowers look nice does it matter that they are weeds!?! Well as long as they don't take over that is!
I would love a garden full of wild flowers one day, I personally think they are so pretty.
James & I have a 'weed' that grows in our garden & it is lovely as it has beautiful big purple flowers but it is a creeper which is good too as it looks pretty & gives a fairy-tale feel to the space but it is naughty! It grows & grows & grows if you let it!!!!
This tiny bunch of flowers has given me so much joy over the last few days, with its complete cheeriness & the smell ... oh the smell is so perfectly Summer.

*A Glamorous Side Chignon*

I saw this really pretty hair style at
Martha Stewart Weddings & fell in love with it!
Isn't it just perfect for wedding days whether you are a bride & want a glamorous yet casual look that you can do yourself or even in your a guest wanting a pretty but sophisticated look.
The Side Chignon
This fresh, easy style is as modern as it is timeless:
Low swept curls recall a classic chignon, while an asymmetrical silhouette lends a flirty vibe.
 ♥
Step One
Using a round brush, blow-dry hair smooth and straight, focusing on the top sections
Step Two
Once dry, use a large-barrel curling iron to create waves from the ears down.
Step Three
Build height and volume at the crown by teasing hair gently with a fine-tooth comb.
Step Four
Gather hair into a low ponytail. Twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go.
Step Five
Once you reach your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls, and pin them back over the twist.
Step Six
Spritz strands in place.
Step Seven
To add texture, gently curl and scrunch the wispy ends with your fingertips.
Isn't it simply adorable!

*You love the roses - so do I*

You love the roses - so do I. I wish
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be
Like sleeping and like waking, all at once!
George Eliot
I am in love!
These beautiful Pink Vintage Style Rose Garlands arrived at Vintage Amethyst a couple of weeks ago
& I'm sure you will agree they are just simply beautiful.
Their soft dusky pink colour & pink tipped faded leaves are so wonderfully
vintage in style don't you agree?
I love how they look here on my mannequin in the dining room just simply draped ...
... and look how delightful they look draped around my vintage mirror in the living room, so pefect with the greys & whites.
So romantic & elegant in style they would be perfect for any vintage style home, but would look so beautiful for a wedding day.
Bring a touch of romantic vintage elegance into your home with this beautiful vintage style rose garland.

*In very good company!*

With everything that has been going on lately over the past couple of months
I haven't had a chance to post updates on lovely Press features that
Vintage Amethyst has been receiving.
So this week I thought that I would try & update the Vintage Amethyst Press page & so to start with this weeks
*Product of the Week*
should be this lovely Laundry Sign as it was featured in a magazine way back in March!

It was featured in the Sunday Express magazine on 6th March & was included in a lovely feature
called Fresh Prints about spring cleaning.
Now I say 'In very good company' as the sign was featured alongside some well known names like Cath Kidston & Jamie at Home!
This really is a rather fab sign for your laundry room or cupboard.
The sign is made from metal and hangs by wire.
A lovely old fashioned sign to bring a bit of nostalgia to your home & at only
£4 each a super buy too!
Find the sign *here*
