*My Pretty Painted Bedside Cabinet*

It's Friday! So that means that it is Show & Tell Friday at the lovely
It's been a long time I think since I've posted a little sneak peek of our home, so this week I thought I would join in with Show & Tell & show you my bedside cabinet.
We've had them for a few years now.
We have one each either side of the bed & they belonged to James' Mum
who very kindly gave them to us when she moved house & area.
They were dark wood & so in keeping with our home I of course painted them.
I painted them in White Cotton (although at times I think it is too white & may paint over it with a softer white!) & distressed the edges & I think they look sweet & fit in so well now.
The bed is painted in Wolf Grey & so they compliment each other well without being too 'over white'.
The walls are painted in Lead White by Dulux which is a very very soft pale blue.
The cabinets are absolutely wonderful as they are big & roomy & so hold a lot of books & I
always have a lot (a lot!!!) of books by my bedside!
The items on top are a pink heart clock & lovely vintage style pink glass candle holder which I used to
sell in the boutique.
The box was a plain wooden box with little drawers that I bought years ago, which I painted in pink & then in an off-white colour & heavily distressed so that a lot of the pink shows through.
We are also very lucky to have this old original wooden door in our bedroom with the lovely old lock as you can see sneaking into the photo, unfortunately we don't have the key though, but you can't have everything can you!

*Vintage Cake Tins*

I thought I would show you my lovely
vintage cake tins.
I bought them from the wonderful RE in Corbridge, Northumberland.
I think this has to be my most favourite shop that I've visited in a long time, as it is super choc-a-block full of vintage goodness!
I think it was in the summer last year I bought these for the bargain price of £1.50 each.
I knew as soon as I saw them that I wanted them to pop simple white t-lights in & use them as candle holders & don't they look sweet?
I really love RE & if you have ever been you will know exactly how I feel I'm sure, as it is so fantastic!
Anyhoo they have a wonderful website so you don't have to miss out, well apart from actually missing out on the experience of the actual shop itself as it is rather wonderful, but *here* is the website so do take a peek.

*Wedding Dress Trend: Supersize Flower Skirts*

Wedding Dress Trends for 2011
One of this years trends for 2011 brides are Supersize Flower Skirts.
Three-dimensional floral details originally debuted a few seasons ago. They started small—a few petals here, an organza flower there—but my, how they've grown! This season, enormous flowers sprouted from skirts on backgrounds of organza, or literally became the skirts. Lush, plush, and so very, very romantic.

*Prince William and Kate Middleton Reveal Wedding Plans*

Following on from yesterday's Royal Wedding post I thought I would post about the upcoming Royal Wedding Plans that were revealed yesterday.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is to marry Prince William and Kate Middleton at their upcoming wedding, St James Palace has disclosed.
The palace says Miss Middleton will travel to the 29 April ceremony by car.
But the newly-weds will return to Buckingham Palace in a glass carriage along Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and The Mall.
The Queen will host a reception at the palace, followed by a private dinner and dancing in the evening.
Break with tradition
The basic structure of the wedding day:
♥Miss Middleton will travel to Westminster Abbey by car via The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall and Parliament Square.♥

♥The ceremony will begin at 1100 GMT.♥

♥The Dean of Westminster will conduct the service, the Archbishop of Canterbury will marry William and Kate and the Bishop of London will give the address.♥

♥After the service, the couple will travel in a carriage procession to Buckingham Palace along the same route taken earlier by Miss Middleton.♥

♥There will then be a reception, hosted by the Queen, for guests from the congregation, "representing the couple's official and private lives".♥

♥In the evening, the Prince of Wales will host a private dinner at Buckingham Palace, followed by dancing, for the couple plus close friends and family.
BBC royal correspondent Daniella Relph said the decision to have Miss Middleton travel to the ceremony by car rather than glass carriage was a real break with tradition.
She said Clarence House felt it was the right way "to strike an appropriate note" because the royal family did not want the day to appear too lavish.
Oohhh it is all exciting ~ well I'm excited anyhoo for another lovely big Royal Wedding.

*Official Royal Wedding China Range Launched*

The Royal Collection has launched an official range of commemorative china to mark the forthcoming wedding of HRH Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton on 29 April 2011.
The official Royal Wedding range has been approved by the couple and includes a tankard (£35), eight-inch plate (£40) and pill box (£25) in English fine bone china.
Each piece bears the couple’s entwined initials in gold and silver surmounted by the coronet of Prince William and the wedding date.
The range is decorated with a pattern of doves, white ribbons and hearts in silver, gold and grey, set against a pale-grey striped background. Handmade exclusively for the Royal Collection in Stoke-on-Trent using methods that have remained unchanged for 250 years, each item is individually decorated and then embellished with several layers of burnished gold and platinum before a final layer of gilding in 22-carat gold is applied by hand.
All pieces come in a presentation box and are wrapped in white tissue-paper printed with designs inspired by the wall hangings in Clarence House.
The official Royal Wedding commemorative range can be purchased from the Royal Collection’s online shop *click here* and Royal Collection shops at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
