*Full of Glee*

Did anyone catch the start of the Emmy's?
No?~  well watch above!
How funny was it! As a life long Bruce Springsteen fan I'm glad he got the Glee treatment if only for the Emmy's & with such a group of people too!
*Giggle*
I loved the bit when Tim Gunn 'spruces' Jimmy Fallon up into the cover of the Born in the USA album & of course the lovely Jon Hamm was part of the group so I was in TV heaven ~ how funny is that bit with Jon Hamm & Betty White!
Fab!

*Woman ~ Week Ending July 20 1957*

I love old magazines & I'm so lucky to have quite a collection.
I started collecting them a few years ago & then James wanted to start painting old adverts from magazines so he started buying too!
Last year at a carboot we managed to pick up about 20 that a lady was selling & as paying, James explained he was an artist & painted the adverts from them & she said 'I wish I'd known I have boxes full of them at home but I only brought one box'! Ooohhh we could have had so many more but never mind, we were very happy with the amount we had.
I love this cover from July 1957 don't you?
Just look at that wonderful hair style & the colours! How fab are the colours!
So what was going on in July 1957 ...
...well the front cover states

*White Wedding Hearts ~ a perfect table setting*

Over the last couple of weeks I've been working on some wedding orders for these white heart-shaped tags, just perfect as place settings for wedding tables.
I've been making 220 of the little cuties last week alone!
They start off all lovely nude & bare!
They are solid birch wood shaped into hearts.
I do love them like this but I also love white too & white is just perfect for weddings.
They are painted in Heirloom White & lightly distressed.
I then drill a hole in each & every one.
Good quality white string is cut to size & threaded through each hole.
They are then grouped into sets of 10 & tied with twine.
They are then wrapped up in tissue, a ribbon is wrapped around & a pretty tag added & then they are off to their bride for a very special day.
These pretty white hearts are currently really popular for brides for their wedding tables, all you have to do is write each guests name on each heart ~ a fine felt marker pen is perfect for this & place at each table setting for guests to find their places.
They can be wrapped around napkins, glasses or even tied to the backs of chairs.
I think they are perfect to create a soft, romantic look just perfect for a wedding & each guest can take their personal heart home with them too!
They are £16 for a set of 10 & can be found *here*

*Miss Quirky Pantaloonies*

Ms Helena Bonham Carter is never going to win any awards & accolades for being a Mistress of Fashion & tends to appear on the worst dressed list of most magazines dedicated to fashion & trends (!) but as another non-slave to fashion, I am inspired by Ms Helena as she dresses the way she wants to, without a thought to what others think.
I think she is independant, quirky, fun, dark, mysterious, sweet, typifies English eccentricity but most of all she is herself & I love that!
I found these photos which I thought were so fun & frivolous!
They were part of a clothing range designed by Helena Bonham Carter & Samantha Sage called Pantaloonies a few years ago & were sold by Harrods.
I think I love this photo the most ....
