*Taking a little time to heal ...*

Thank you for all your kind messages for my last post & sorry I haven't been around much lately.
Unfortunately we got the news we were all dreading about my Mum last Friday so it has been a tough few days with tears, sleepless nights & feeling helpless but we are all going to get through this as we have a huge big loving family & so Mum is not short on love or support.
So if blog posts are slightly sporadic & I'm not around much it's only because I'm not feeling like writing but on the other hand it is always best to keep busy so there may be far too many posts too!
*smile*
Lets just wait & see ...

*A Huge Thank You*

I just wanted to say a huge big heartfelt thank you to the ever lovely Catherine from Mollycupcakes.
Your see, my lovely Mummy has been poorly over the last few months & has had to have lots of horrid tests, scans & hospital visits & it was also her 70th Birthday on Sunday! *Hurray* We had a lovely day full of family, bucks fizz, a wonderful restaurant, fantastic food, giggles & of course a huge pink fondant fancy birthday cake!

Anyhoo, I had mentioned to Catherine in passing in an e-mail that she had been poorly & then last week Catherine asked what my Mum's favourite colour is ~ well of course it's pink, what else? (*giggle*) So I told Catherine & you know what she did she only went a sent a huge lovely parcel for my Mummy didn't she!

The other day Mum & I had been out shopping looking for party wear as she is having a huge big party this Saturday (she gets to have 2 birthdays & 2 birthday cakes ~ well really a girl deserves such things doesn't she? *tee hee*) and we came back here & a lovely big parcel had arrived! I hadn't told my Mum as I thought it would be a lovely surprise, which is was, she opened it all up & it was filled with lots (and I do mean lots) of pretty pink Mollycupcake pressies & a sweet sweet card! How lovely is that?

It was just what she needed a wonderful kind surprise, so a huge big & lovely ♥heartfelt thank you♥ to Catherine from me & my mummy.
(I know I have e-mailed you already Catherine to say thank you but really people should know just how lovely you are shouldn't they? *giggle*)

*The New Vintage Amethyst Boutique*

Well there is a new look Vintage Amethyst!
It's something I've been working on for a few weeks now & is something I have had in my mind since Vintage Amethyst was first born in 2003!
Some of my readers from the early days may remember that at the time Vintage Amethyst only sold jewellery which was handmade by little old me, but when I first started Vintage Amethyst & always wanted to sell pretty jewellery alongside vintage style accessories & homeware but when Vintage Amethyst first began the jewellery was really popluar so at the time I decided to concentrate on the jewellery side & leave the homewares behind.
But as a few years passed my it was my love & passion for pretty homes & vintage style 'Shabby Chic' homewares that I missed so I decided to join the two together again at the fairs & craft markets that I attended at the time, but then when I re-designed & re-launched Vintage Amethyst the online boutique in April 2008 it was the homewares that I decided to concentrate on this time & leave the jewellery side behind but in the back of my mind I have always wanted the Vintage Amethyst Boutique to be a mixture of pretty items for the home & also delicious items to wear & so here we are today the new

There are 2 new collections the first is just for you ...
which is full of pretty jewellery & vintage style bags which I thought I would show you a small sample of.
I am completely in love with the pretty bag at the top of this page, it is so delighful & pretty & so wonderfully vintage in style.
The pretty necklace above is handmade by me & is made using pretty amazonite stones including that wonderful 'teardrop' pendant with pretty fresh water pearls & sterling silver beads ~ these are one of my personal favourite combinations for pretty jewellery.
The necklace is £20 & can be found *here*

These earrings are also handmade by me & are sterling silver & have wonderfully big deep red fresh water pearls.
They are £6.50 & can be found *here*

Another pretty jewellery item in the just for you ... collection is a new favourite of mine which isn't made by me this time, but is this pretty delicate necklace which is made with pretty dimpled silver tone beads & shell beads all threaded & knotted on white cotton.
I think it is just perfect for the summer but when on it looks quite elegant too.
The necklace is £15 & can be found *here*
This is another one of the pretty clutch bags I have in the new collection.
I am so in love with this one too, it is a really pretty silver grey with this wonderful ruffles in satin material. It has a really pretty diamante clasp at the top too & come with 2 chains for handbag & shoulder bag use as do most of the new bags in the collection.
This clutch is £25 & can be found *here*
There is also a new wedding day ... collection, as many of the Vintage Amethyst items are much favoured by brides on their special day I thought I would have a new section which places all the most popular wedding items together with a few new additions specifically tailored for the wedding day decor.
I really hope you will pop along & see the changes to the website & visit the new just for you ... collection & see all the other pretty new items.

*Pretty Pink Shoes*

It is Show & Tell Friday again over at the beautiful My Romantic Home so this week I thought I would join in again & show you my adorable pink shoes!

I love these shoes, I mean really what isn't there to love, they are the most wonderful baby pink colour ~ the photo makes them look slightly darker here but they are such a pretty colour, plus they of course have that wonderful ruffle at the front, too cute.
They are also in a pretty 40's style which I am such a fan of in shoes & they are just sooooo comfortable too with a sensible heel.

I bought them over a year ago from Primark of all places & they were a bargain-licious £13 ~ I mean really £13 for these adorable cuties!
I also bought them in a tan colour too ~ well for the price who wouldn't?
I just wish I had bought more pairs for when these wear out!

What I love about these shoes is that when I put them on the whole world is filled with flirty frilly fun & of course they always get noticed too!

Do pop along to My Romantic Home where the lovely Cindy hosts Show & Tell Friday

*Pretty White Roses*

I have some lovely new faux roses for the shop.
Don't they just look so pretty?
These pretty roses are actually made from foam but certainly look beautiful.
Each rose has a leaf attached with a few little green 'leaves' attached to the rose head.
12 stems are included in the bunch.
Each stem is wrapped in green & is bendable. These really are pretty flowers & are perfect placed in jugs on tables, plus will last for a very long time which for the price is certainly worth it.
Perfect as a pretty centerpiece for wedding tables don't you think?
I have a bunch in this lovely white jug that I photographed them in, sorry the jug isn't included but I bought it from Ikea for £11.99 if you want to buy one for yourself. They are enamel & have a lovely vintage look about them with slight distressing at the top. I think they are a perfect match for these roses.
The roses are £10 for 12 stems & can be found *here*

*Happy Easter Everyone*

*Happy Easter Weekend Everyone*

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

We have family visiting for the weekend & so I'm having an Easter Tea Party on Saturday Evening, so I've been busy planning my Easter table for 10.
I take entertaining very seriously, so I've been constantly thinking of food, napkins, placing people, decorations, how the table will look, making place cards etc.
Much to the amazement of my husband, who obviously doesn't understand prettiness comes at a price!
*giggle*

This afternoon I will be a busy busy bee baking delicious goodies for tomorrow.
Yummy.

I really hope that you all have a super fun weekend & fingers crossed the weather is going to be kind to us all ~ doesn't it know I want to put pretty bunting up outside aswell as in!!!

Have fun & eat lots of chocolate ~ I know I will!

*April Fool*

Can you believe it? April already!!!
It only seems like a couple of days ago I was writing *this post* about it being March! I think it's a sign of old age when you can't believe where the time goes isn't it? Well my Dad always said when I was little that time speeds up as you get older, I didn't believe him then but I do now. Oh & talking of my Dad it is actually his birthday today the old April Fool, I would wish him happy birthday here & now but seeing as I don't think he knows what a blog actually is let alone reads mine & won't bother! *giggle*
Well I suppose Spring has well & truly arrived *hurray* although I know some parts of the UK are still having snow *eek* but today here with me it is a glorious sunshiney Spring day, albeit & little windy but that just means I can hang the washing on the line to dry, oooohh I do love when it gets to Spring-time & washing can dry outside ~ it's the little things in life folks isn't it! *smile*
Oh & talking of the joys of Spring, how about that extra hour, isn't it just wonderful. On Sunday I felt as if I had gained a good few extra hours in the day & just because of one more hour of lightness!
Oh & if you have been admiring my little blocks above which are adorable & are currently celebrating Spring, don't forget they are from the lovely Annie at Birdcages & Butterflies so do pop along to her Blog Shop for lots more pretty goodies.
*Happy April Everyone*
P.S Don't forget about the Spring Thing Giveaway ~ it closes midnight on Monday so there is still time to enter ... visit the Win page link is at the top of this page over there on the right.
